Supportkids revamps Web site, reaches financial milestone
An Austin company focused on helping custodial parents collect child support has launched a new Web site.
Supportkids Inc. says its redesigned site offers customers new features like a streamlined log-in process and the ability to review their case status 24 hours a day. The site also offers non-customers useful tools and information on how to deal with unpaid or overdue child support, such as a child support calculator and a glossary of terms related to the issue.
Supportkids also announced that in May it collected more than $4 million on behalf of its clients, the largest amount in a single month in the company's history. Since it launched in 1991, the company has collected more than $285 million for customers.
Through on-site investigators and with the coopertion of state and federal agencies, Supportkids locates deliquent parents and engages in a collections procedure. The company employs 175 child support services professionals. Supportkids says it receives more than 50,000 inquiries a month from custodial parents looking for help in collecting child support.
According to Supportkids' Web site, the national child support debt now exceeds $102 billion, making the issue a national priority.
