Expert Review Child support enforcement can be a complex issue, and if you are like many of our clients, you have a stack of paperwork that proves it. As a result, the goal of the Expert Review Team is to line up all the information we need to effectively prepare your case for collection. It is here that the child support collection strategy for your case begins to take shape. The team will thoroughly review and assess your case, looking for any gaps in paperwork that may interrupt the child support collection process later on. They will study any modifications or judgments related to your case, as well as details concerning jurisdiction. In addition, Expert Review determines exactly how much you are owed, including any interest or penalties that may be assigned to your child support order. Once the Expert Review Team completes their work on your case, Supportkids has the full picture of your child support situation. Government Operations Though Supportkids is a private child support collection company, the child support issue is firmly tied to the government systems already in place. Our Government Operations Team has experience working with state agencies and knowledge of state-by-state laws. It is their goal to facilitate the ongoing relationship between you, the state agency and Supportkids. Our Government Operations Team also makes sure that our processes are in line with the ever-changing child support policies at the state and county level.
Locate Non-Custodial Parent The ongoing goal of our Locate Team is to maintain current, accurate and relevant information about where the non-custodial parent lives and works. We use an effective combination of methods which begins with the contact information provided on the application. We contact any friends and relatives, if known, and access a number of database systems, including state and Federal locate databases. In addition to initially locating and verifying the whereabouts of the non-custodial parent, our Locate Specialists also begin a comprehensive evaluation of his or her situation by checking current employment status and studying financial background reports. This evaluation is necessary to determine the best collection strategy for your individual child support case. While child support collection efforts are underway, our Locate team is prepared to step in if the non-custodial parent’s circumstances should change. Our extensive experience working on cases where frequent “job-hopping” occurs has allowed us to develop a process to stay on top of a change in employment status. Our experience also extends to those cases in which employment status is unknown or payments are received “under the table”. These types of cases are challenging, so our Locate Specialists have become adept at aggressively pursuing other types of leads, including those provided by you on your application for child support assistance.
Enforcement & Collections Our Enforcement Specialists are a group of highly skilled employees who are trained to use a variety of tools to collect child support. Their negotiation skills and knowledge of available collection methods are the keys to our success. The goal of our Enforcement Team is to get payments into your household, either through regular, sustained payments or one lump sum. Our Enforcement Specialists maintain manageable caseloads which allow them to stay on top of each case. If a scheduled payment does not come in on time, our Enforcement Specialists are automatically notified so they can get the case back on track. Child support laws give private agencies like Supportkids powerful tools to collect child support. The collection tools and techniques available to our Enforcement Specialists include garnishing wages or placing liens on property and assets. However, the most effective method is often direct negotiation with the non-custodial parent. In some cases, our legal staff and our nationwide network of attorneys will also work on court-ordered child support collection efforts. There are no additional charges to you for these services.
Client Relations We believe that child support payments are the greatest indicator of our progress on your case. We also know that effective communication along the way can be equally important to our clients. From the moment you begin the application process, you will have access to updates and the opportunity to speak with someone about your case. That support continues once your case is accepted. The goal of the Client Relations Unit is to ensure that you have access to the most recent and accurate information about your case. Supportkids offers 24-hour access to case information through online updates as well as the automated Client Line, both of which are maintained by our Client Relations Unit. In addition, they conduct the research and follow up necessary to respond to your emails in an accurate and timely fashion. Supportkids recognizes that you may have a child support situation that requires more attention than an online update or emailed inquiry can provide. Our Client Relations Unit is available by phone during business hours to address any issue you feel should be discussed with a child support expert. Our Client Advocates are here to provide you with a way to feel connected and involved with your case progress. As you know, collecting child support can be a very frustrating process, and we want to make sure that you have access to the information you need, when you need it.
